Treaty Interpretation and Breach of Fiduciary Duty
Many of the cases we are involved in on behalf of our clients are about Treaty interpretation and the Crown’s breaches of its fiduciary obligations to fulfill the terms of the Treaty. These cases are historical in nature and involve a large number of historical documents. In some cases the document production exceeds 80,000 documents, and our in-house research department and document database software helps us to manage the workload.
We have also been involved in breach of fiduciary duty cases relating to the Crown’s mismanagement of reserve lands and resources and the failure to adequately compensate for the taking of reserve lands and resources.
